Interview with Trash’N’Clean

If you were making a porno, what would it be called and would it have a specific plot?

This is actually a really simple question: it would be called “Wetness Delivery”, and it would be all about a delivery guy who distributes a physical copy of our EP to a voluptuous housekeeper.

The ending? The house ends up flooded in wetness and everyone drowns…

What’s the inspiration behind the song ‘Thousand Daggers’?

“Thousand Daggers” is a groovy and upbeat song that makes you want to forget about everything and just rock along. But the song is deliberately talking about something serious and unrelated to its musical sensations: things that appear to be, but end up being something else.  We live in the era of appearing, not the era of being. The lyrics of this song simply want to tell the listener the story of us becoming conscious of this matter. In fact, the video is also reinforcing this concept, by showing people that appear to be pieces of furniture and end up revealing themselves as humans only at the end of the track.

If you could choose how you die, what would be your way to go?

Drowning in the flood of wetness caused by the shooting of our porn movie.

Walk me through the creative process behind your latest EP ‘Wetness Delivery’.

Our songs are usually developed from rough instrumental riffs and grooves that we record personally in our bedrooms. Then, we show them to each other and we try to put up a song that stands by itself without vocals. This usually ensures that the music itself is rich enough and is not repetitive. Finally, Fabio and Marchino are able to try out some vocal melodies and talk about what they feel and what the music reminds them of.

“Wetness Delivery” is the result of this creative flow and methodology… apart from Razorblade. That’s just random fucking around.

A penguin wearing a chicken suit walks into the room, why is he there and what’s the first thing he says?

The only reason for having a penguin in my room would be that Fabio put way too much weed in the “post rehearsal joint” (especially too much for the guitar player who is answering right now). The penguin would definitely say something like: “Hey guys, you should tour the South Pole, all the wetness that we have has been frozen for years, we need to melt it and let the world experience a Tsunami of penguin wetness!”.

If you could co-operate with any band or artist who would it be and why?

This is a really cool question… Well, right now we are working hard to write new songs and experimenting a little bit – no, we are not going to show you, keeping the details secret!

As an answer, we’d say: a featuring with a rapper artist like Yelawolf, and a drum’n’bass song with Pendulum. Potentially, also a classic featuring with Mr. Travis Barker.

Why? We believe that our music today needs a massive flow of new influences, and we don’t like to be labeled as one specific genre only. Renewing our band’s timbre and intent is what could really make the difference right now.

What are you currently working on and what can we expect to see next?

Right now we are writing new songs, we are practicing a lot, and we are looking for gigs out of our city, and maybe even out of our country. For sure you can expect a lot of new material, starting from a brand new video. We’ll leave you with a little clue: let’s shave it all.
