Interview with Calling All Astronauts

Tell me a bit about yourself, who are you and what do you do?

David: I program the beats and Keys and do the vocals, I also do the production, and promotion of our releases.

Paul: Bass and point out to David when he has played notes that clash with the guitars.

J: I play guitars loudly.

If you could co-operate with any band or artist who would it be and why?

We’d really like to work with the producer Flood, he has worked with Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Placebo etc, he would make us sound amazing. However, we work so slowly, we’d probably be in debt for the rest of our lives.

If you could choose how you die, what would be your way to go?

Collectively we’d all like to die of old age whilst sleeping, you can’t make records when you’re dead.

How do you balance your personal life and your career?

It’s very hard, J has just had his first child, Paul already has two, it’s all about little sleep, commitment and hard work, it is really don’t to how much you love what you’re doing and just making the time to fit it all in.
A penguin wearing an astronaut suit walks into the room, why is he there and what is the first thing he says?

He is there because we are playing in Antarctica, he’s wearing a spacesuit because he’s dressed up for a chocolate bar commercial, he doesn’t say anything. Because he’s a penguin, we give him a bucket of fish.
What are you currently working on and what can we expect to see next?

We are already starting to write the next album, we have several more singles to come from Anti-Social Network, so we’ll be getting videos and remixes etc, it’s always very busy being in CAA.
